My Parents
My moms name is Guadalupe; most people call her Lupe, for short. She is about 47-years-old, and works on her own as a housekeeper. My mom is a strong and sweet woman. She drives to Aspen most of the time by her self just to work. She’s also a good cook, and a fun person to get along with. She is the youngest in her family out of my aunts and uncles. 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. They all live in Mexico where my mom is from. She was born in Chihuahua; she got married at age 17 and came to Colorado when she was 21. My grandpa (my moms dad) was the one who took care of them when she was young. My grandma (my moms mother) died when my mom was only two. My mom influenced me by showing me the things she learned from her father; Cooking, cleaning, being responsible and respectful and to always be a hard worker.
My dads name is Oscar. He’s only 49-years-old and loves to work. He works as a house painter, and a very good painter. My dad is an out going, helpful person. His favorite thing to do on his own time is garden. He’s also great at cooking. My dad has 5 sisters and 6 brothers, but one of them passed away in 2008. They all live here in Colorado except for 2 sisters and 1 brother who live in Idaho. My dad has been married to my mom for 28 years. That’s what I call love. My dad loves to go to Mexico, twice a year, in March and August. We all go to visit my mom’s family over there. My dad influenced me by never giving up on me. I thank him so much for never giving up on me. That teaches me to never give up on my daughter, and keep trying the things that im doing.

My Sister
I have a 28-year sister. Her name is Julie. She works at a woman’s clinic. My sister can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but no matter what, I will always love her. About 3 years ago when I was 15 years old, I disliked every one in my family. I didn’t talk to anyone and didn’t go out as much as I could. That’s because I had problems and I kept going to court for the stupidest reasons. My sister was the one who would try to help me and fight for my safety. I never appreciated the things she would do for me until I started growing up and realized how stupid I was, I never trusted my sister, and I never liked her getting into my business. Now that I look back and notice what my sister has done for me, I thank her a million times; because of her I am a better person and a great mother for my daughter. I started trusting her and give her a big thank you for being there when I didn’t know what I put my self and others into in the past. Now that I have noticed the changes in me, I have become an independent woman. Julie has given me hope to a better and successful live, because she is the type of person who falls, and gets right back up and try again.

My Brother
I have a 23-year-old brother named Manuel. He works for the Dish Network company in Grand Junction, CO. It’s been 6 months since he has moved out. He lives with one of his friends from his high school days. Every time he comes to visit, he complains how he hates his roommate’s girl’s friend. We just got used to the complaining. My brother is a very hard worker, and he can be a strong person. My brother and I didn’t really get alone very well. Until I became more responsible. He now stands up for me like a big brother should. He gives me advise on things I never expected. But he’s there for me no matter what. He’ll never give up on me even when the situation is worse. I thank him for being there for Jenisis and I.
